Wrinkles Schminkles is an Australian owned brand founded in 2014 by Gabrielle Requena, who set out to solve a problem she was having with lines on her own chest.
She had learned that medical grade silicone was already used by doctors to support wound and scar healing, and wondered whether the same material could be shaped into something targeted and reusable for everyday use.
After a long run of prototypes with a manufacturing facility in the United States, the first reusable silicone patches for the chest, forehead and eyes were born, creating a category that had not really existed before.
The patches are made from 100 percent medical grade silicone and work by sitting over the skin and holding it gently taut, so it cannot crease or crinkle while you sleep, while helping the area hold onto moisture.
Alongside the patches, the range has grown to include sheet masks, exfoliating peel pads and self dissolving microneedle patches, so there are options for hydration and gentle resurfacing as well.
The patches are reusable many times over, suit all skin types, and are gentle enough to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Even the name is deliberate, chosen as a light hearted push back against the fear based language that often surrounds ageing.
